  • Part 2: Instruments/Electronics (30 hours)
  • Part 3: Operational Procedures (30 hours)

Flight Performance & Planning

  • Part 1: Performance (15 hours)
  • Part 2: Mass & Balance (15 hours)
  • Part 3: Flight Planning & Monitoring (42 hours)

Human Performance & Limitations (30 hours)

Metro logy (45 hours)

Navigation

  • Part 1: General Navigation (42 hours)
  • Part 2: Radio Navigation (42 hours)

Communication

  • Part 1: VFR (5 hours)
  • Part 2: IFR (5 hours)

 

Licensing  Requirement

  • Pass the theoretical examination conducted by the CAASL
  • Minimum of 1500 flight hours of which 250 hrs as Pilot in Command
  • Minimum age of 21 years

Privileges

  • Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of an aircraft in an air carrier service
  • Act as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of an aircraft with max gross weight over 5700 kg and/or over 9 passenger seats.
  • Act as Commander of an aircraft for valuable consideration (pay)
  • Act as Commander of a multi- crew- aircraft for which they are qualified

Career Prospects

  • ATPL is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification
  • ATPL certified pilots are authorized to act as Pilot-in-Command (Commander) of an aircraft in any airline
